Workshops

Most DWA workshops and seminars are private, closed events conducted for the benefit of a specific clients and, on invitation, their guests. Occassionally, we do produce workshops and seminars open to the public. Sessions are specific to topics in leadership, organizational alignment (people & planning), performance management, and/or personal & professional skills development.

Below is a sampling of just a few of the workshops and seminars we conduct from time to time. To request one of these or a different workshop for your organization, contact DWA.

Planning for Success

Imagine if you could build a strategic plan in a day. With the skills you'll learn and tools you'll receive in this workshop, you'll be off to a great start. We'll help to crystalize and formulate the vision for your business whether you're a going concern or just starting out, and help crystalize the value you provide to your clients in your Mission Statement. We'll conduct a review of your strategic position, and help you define your position in the marketplace. We'll craft a financial plan, a staffing plan, and identify the Performance Factors most critical to your organization. Finally, we'll help you establish an action plan for how to implement your results from the day and get the most value.

In total, you'll receive 10 tools to help you plan. This session is best for anyone interested in a D.I.Y. approach to strategic planning or who is seeking an overview understanding of the process.

Leadership & The Act of Leading

If you've ever wanted to gain a better understanding of what people actually mean by "the difference between working on vs. in the business," then this is the session for you.

We start with the assumption that there are "best practices" which, when employed, can help a business attain peak performance. We then review the Leadership Action Points (LAPs) - Leadership, Organizational Alignment, Performance Management, and Personal & Professional Developement. By spending time strengthing your business in each of these areas, you are leading.

Through case studies, group discussion, and instruction, we review examples of leadership in each area and what it means to "circle the LAPs."

Participants walk away able to remember key tasks as a leader, and with a holistic understanding of what leadership means within their organization.

Twelve O'Clock High

In this classic workshop, we use the 1949 movie starring Gregory Peck as a study in leadership skills. Through studying the 918 Bomb Group, we discover important leadership topics, including: leadership styles, corrective action techniques, decision making processes, morale building, accountability, teamwork, discipline, and personal leadership. An all-day workshop, this session includes workbook and movie viewing in group discussion format, as well as DISC-style behavioral analysis for professional growth.

Participants will end the session with a clarified understanding of leadership, how they relate to and utilize the concepts of leadership, and an action plan for improving their own position as leaders in their companies and lives. This session is a must for companies struggling to create a culture of accountability, or who are striving to engender an attitude of proactivity in their staff.
