Leadership Action Points™
Our goal in advising, business coaching, and executive coaching is to keenly focus our clients
on the factors most important to their success. We stress the importance of understanding what we
call the Leadership Action Points.™ These are the business areas where the astute leader should
focus and work in order to ensure continual growth toward high performance.
In our experience, the typical leader is naturally strong in at most one area of just one or at most two of the
Leadership Action Points. Chief goals for our work together, then, involve collaborating together to determine
how to accomplish the other leadership and business competencies. The change and resulting gains can be dramatic,
resulting not only in improved bottom lines, but improved lives and relationships.
The Leadership Action Points™
Leadership
A primary task of leadership is to define and communicate the direction of the organization so that others
may be organized around the cause. Our goals here are to help define organizational values, vision, and mission,
to assist with strategic planning, and more.
Organizational Alignment: People & Planning
Alignment is the key process of getting all resources of the organization - people, capital, everything, aligned
toward organizational goals. Of course, that's why good leadership is so important, so that there are established goals.
Tasks here include organizational structuring and restructing, recruiting, resource allocation, tactical planning,
marketing planning, creating growth strategies, and the like.
Performance Management
Performance Management is focused on the systems, processes, and procedures necessary to turn plans into success.
A primary focus here is installation of Corporate Performance Management through High-Performance Management Teams,
systems of managing the organization to determined performance goals. We also focus on system improvements, efficiency
improvements, process design, and operational audits.
Personal & Professional Development
Another key role in leadership is building subordinate leadership, and a key task in that effort is building
important skills. This is where Personal & Professional Development comes in. Unlike some training companies,
we're not looking to run mindless workshops. Our target is to address identified shortcoming - to teach hard leadership
skills, delegation, time management, to establish career paths, develop communications, etc. In short, to put the
building blocks in place for higher performance.
The Act of Leading
It's not enough to understand the Leadership Action Points. The key is to continually walk through them
with a trusted advisor by your side. By focusing on incremental improvements in the areas of critical need,
you can achieve real, dramatic results.
Performance Factors Teams
The key to advancing change most rapidly is when your entire top management team understands these principles,
is onboard and involved in implementation. At DWA, we accomplish this by helping you form or transform your
existing teams into Performance Factors Teams.
We work to establish the right team, build trust, teamwork, and cooperation, and take it further to establish
a proven operating method that delivers extraordinary results based in hard business objectives and real accountability.
Positioned at the center of the Leadership Action Points, your Performance Factors Teams will have the tools
to produce better results faster than ever before.
